Eight hundred wonderful people with obviously highly refined taste in the filthy stories they read :-)
I know—compared to other writers on Literotica this is nothing, but for me it’s worth a little celebration. And it only took slightly less than 5 years.

Busy Writer’s Guides – Marcy Kennedy
A series of short, no-bullshit guides in e-book form (also available in print) focusing on one key aspect of writing. Easy to follow, well explained and, unlike so many similar guides, completely fluff-free.

It’s been 2.5 days since Top Floor to Ourselves, my humble entry for the 2022 Literotica Valentine’s contest went live.
As the first story posted in Incest / Taboo (the most popular category on the site), I wasn’t sure what to expect. Each category seems to have it’s own little community and entrenched expectations.

Literotica allows formatting stories with a few basic HTML tags: italics, bold, center and a few other formatting niceties.
However, you must insert these markup tags yourself. If you write in MS Word and simply copy and paste a story, all your lovely italics and other formatting disappears. Recently, Literotica also started changing the em dash character into double dashes.
You can’t just save a Word document in HTML and paste that, either. MS Word creates infamously bloated HTML that will not work. So what do we do?

An entry for the 2022 Literotica Valentine’s Day Contest is now live on Literotica.
Top Floor to Ourselves is the second story I’ve written for the annual contest, the first being last year’s “weirdly hopeful” romance The 39.25-Year-Old-Virgin.
This is my first venture into the Incest/Taboo category, as part of a personal challenge to write at least one story in each Literotica category.
The problem is, I know too many people affected by incest in real life and the grave damage it did to them. Yes, erotica is fantasy, but sometimes fantasy becomes action. I don’t want to romanticize or downplay how horrific incest is in reality.
Arguably, the least harmful form of taboo/incest is between consenting cousins. Many people have an attractive cousin they see only at family gatherings they’ve fanaticized about. First cousins are even allowed to marry in a lot of the world, so that’s what I went with for this story.
